Baby Jogger City Tour 2 2019
The Baby Jogger City Tour 2 will be a real boon for active and mobile parents. The ability to instantly fold it to the size of the bag makes the Baby Jogger City Tour 2 the perfect companion for any family travel. And besides its supercompactness and lightness, the stroller has good driving characteristics, is comfortable for the baby, reliable and easy to drive. It will provide your child with full comfort and convenience.
In 2019 the Baby Jogger released a new version of the popular lightweight model City Tour. Now it’s suitable for newborn, you can add the car seat or the bassinet(sold separetely). Not many lightweight strollers can let you do this. I think it’s really big advantage. Also I like that Baby Jogger upgraded the City Tour as parents waited. Now the City Tour 2 has deeper seat, almost flat recline, adjustable calf support, redesigned one-hand fold, new lightweight tires and of course, new colors.
Significant upgrades in 2019 models:
- Updated design and premium embossed fabric
- Infant car seat and carry cot compatible
- Adjustable calf support
- Lightweight and durable rubber composite tires
Let’s see the features:
The City Tour 2 has adjustable seat and it reclines to almost a flat position. The seat is padded and rather roomy – 13″, from the bottom of the seat to the top of canopy – 23”. The stroller is designed for baby from 3 months and up to 45lbs. It has strap recline system and it means that you will need both hand to bring the seat back up, but only one hand for reclining. If you want to use it from the first day – I would recommend to add the infant insert. Also don’t forget that the baby is too small and needs your eye contact, so I defenetly will advise to purchase the carrycot or car seat.
There is an adjustable leg rest in this stroller, you just need to push it up and your kid will have comfotable place to have a nap. To release that, there is the handle underneath, you just click and lift it down.
The Baby Jogger City Tour 2 has good UV 50+ canopy with pop-out sunvisor, but I would like to see it a bit larger. It’s my personal, but if you reclines it to the flat position the canopy gives not enough shade.
There is a peekaboo window with Velcro closure, I really do not understand why some of manufacturers are producing such type of closure. As for me, magnetic closure is more convinient, you’re not gonna wake up your sleeping baby. And with Velcro you can do it easily.
Also you can see your baby from the back while seat is in the flat position, but there is also Velcro. Anyway it will give a lot of air circulation in hot summer days.
The City Tour 2 has an adjustable 5-point harness with a center release button, like and other strollers.
The handle is rubber covered. I can’t say that it’s an advantage or disadvantage, it’s easy to clean but some of parents can find it not very soft. What can be a real problem is that the handle bar is not adjustable and is located 38″ from the ground. So for taller parents it can be uncomfortable. The wrist strap is attached to the handle bar, so the stroller will not run away from you.
Bamper is NOT INCLUDED! You can purchase it separately. The bamper bar is fabric-covered. As for me rubber or leatheretter is better looking and also is more practical and easier to clean.
The storage basket is rather large for such kind of strollers. It is very easy to access from the back and sides.
The Baby Jogger City Tour 2 has a one-step brake but it’s not flip-flop friendly. When you need to push it back you will use your shoe and probably will make it dirty or even scartched.
The stroller has durable rubber composite tires with 5″ wheels in the front and 6″ wheels in the back. The front wheels are swivel but can be locked straight. The front wheels suspension allows the stroller to go smoothly in the city, but it’s not all-terrain wheels.
I like the City Tour 2 folding system, you just need one hand. First you should put the brake on before you fold the stroller. Then with your thumb slide across the top botton, press the lower botton, release forward and pull up in the centre. And you ready to go. The stroller has automatic lock on the frame. For unfolding you just need to release that lock and shake out in front of you. Easy and fast, and also you need only one hand. Such system also has UppaBaby Minu.
One more advantages, the City Tour 2 comes with travel bag, so you can take your stroller at the airport, museum or anywhere else. Or you can store it in your apartment or garage.
Travel system option
You can convert your City Tour 2 into a travel system by attaching adapters. But you will need to purchase car seat adapters because they are not included. Compatible only with Baby Jogger City GO /Graco Click Connect seat models. You can even fold the stroller with the adapters attached. So if you want to buy only one lightweight stroller for your baby, this variant is a good solution.
The one of important change in Baby Jogger City Tour 2 is that you can convert your stroller into a pram by adding bassinet (sold separetely). For this you need to recline the seat, attach the adapters (included in the carrycot) and click the bassinet in. It does have a strap for carrying. The canopy with a UV 50+ rating and has pop out sunvisor. Also the bassinet has a plush mattress pad cover that is machine washable. So the bassinet is very nice and light.

So the latest model of Baby Jogger City Tour 2 met all expectations of parents. Now you can start to use it from the first day with compatible car seat and carrycot. Also the stroller is really light weight, only 14,3lbs. From the other hand, the stroller is not all-terrain like almost all lightweight strollers, but the City Tour 2 has good, safety frame and good tires. I think the big advantages are deep seat, flat recline and calf support that make all trips comfortable for the kid. What I think that the Baby Jogger needs to add is a bamper bar, I know that you can buy it separately and the price is not high, but I definitely want to see it included.
The stroller has a small size in a folded position so you can take it anywhere and tore at home. It’s good for parents that live in the appartment and have no place to keep the stroller outside. I can honestly say, that I really like Baby Jogger, they produce high-quality strollers for reasonable price.
